Getting Started

  • For All Web-Based Downloads – not from CD-ROM or other media:  Once the Real°Pac Presentation has been downloaded it may prompt you for a password.   If so, enter the following phrase, with no spaces, and do not include the quotation marks: "realpac4you". The Next button should become "enabled" (with the caption in black) once the correct password is entered. Press this button when ready to proceeed.

Next, you are prompted for a storage area to store what amounts to only a (temporary) CD-IMAGE folder on any (hard or network) drive. We intentionally ask you to choose a location to store this CD-IMAGE so as to avoid using the TEMP folder on your system. By avoiding this "temporary" storage area, we also avoid potential problems in the event the folder or area is too full or has too many existing files. You are free to simply delete (remove) this folder once (or if) you no longer need or wish to have this CD-IMAGE on your system. This is the only folder we store and there is no other uninstallation procedure required. Feel free to modify this default folder value if desired, and when ready, press the Next button to proceed.

The 'Location to Save Files' dialog when downloading the Real°Presentation on-line

  • Downloads – run from current location:  Once the Real°Pac Presentation has been downloaded it will start up automatically.  Please proceed to the Initial Welcome Letter, below.

  • Downloads – save file to local disk:  Once the Real°Pac Presentation has been downloaded and saved to some location on your hard drive, you will, when ready, start the “decompression” process by running the single file that was downloaded and saved.  This file is called “realpacnow.exe”. Please refer to the detailed instructions above.

  • CD-ROM Disk – starts up automatically:  If a physical CD-ROM disk is in use, insert same into your CD-ROM drive.  If “auto-play” is enabled on your computer, the CD-ROM will start automatically.  Proceed to the Initial Welcome Letter, below.

  • CD-ROM Disk – does not start up automatically:  If you are either using a physical CD-ROM, but your computer is not configured to “auto-play” this CD when you insert it into your CD-ROM drive, then first:

    1)  Choose START on your Windows’ Task Bar, and then choose RUN.
    2)  Type

    D:\MENUQ.EXE

… where “D” would be your actual CD-ROM drive letter.

Getting Help

The Orientation or brief how-to Menu at the start of the Presentation

  • Next, you are presented with the Presentation Help window. This is to remind you on how to navigate your way around the software.

You can always invoke or bring up this Help window by pressing the F1 key, or by clicking on the Help button in the Presentation's Navigation Bar with your mouse.

The Help button looks like this:

  The Main Menu

The Main Menu of the Presentation
  • There are six (6) main sections to the Presentation. Each section is accessible thru the buttons provided. You may either click on the button desired with your mouse, or hold down the ALT key and type the number (1 thru 6) for the section you wish to view.
  • As you complete each section, the corresponding Completed? Grey circle or "button" turns green, so as to visually remind you that you have seen all of the screens in that section.
  • You are free to either run the Presentation from beginning to end, or to jump in and out of any section, or to view a section again.

Running the Presentation

One of the first Screens in the Presentation
  • You should now see the initial screen shown above. Notice the Navigation Bar at the bottom right-hand corner of your display.

You may either use the Mouse and this bar to navigate, or your keyboard.

To go to the NEXT screen, either press the PAGE DOWN key, or click on the right-arrow.
To go to the PREVIOUS screen, either press the PAGE UP key, or click on the left arrow.
To go to a particular screen (each one is numbered sequentially), press the GOTO key, or
click on the "feet".
To STOP the Presentation at any time, either press the ESCAPE key, or click on the stop sign.
To MINIMIZE the Presentation at any time, either press the F10 key, or click on the minimize/
down arrow.
To get HELP on these instructions,. Either press the F1 key, or click on the Help/Question mark.

  • The Presentation is self-paced. This means that you determine the pace by pressing the PG DOWN, PG UP (or left and right arrows with the mouse) when you are ready to proceed - or go back. No need to "fight" with the software when it automatically takes you forward... which may either not give you enough time to read and study the screens, or give you too much time!
  • The Presentation is designed to cover what is called "standard VGA" resolution mode ("640 x 480 pixels"). This means that on most regular monitors, the Presentation will appear to take up the entire screen. It is important to remember that you can make the Presentation a tiny iconized window by pressing the F10 key.

Then, to restore the iconized Presentation window back to its normal size, simply double-click the icon with your mouse. The Presentation will then come back to its full-sized state.

Exiting from the Presentation

  • Whenever you want, you may exit from the section of the Presentation you are currently in, so as either go to another section, or to exit altogether. By pressing the ESCAPE key, or clicking on the Stop sign, you will return to the Main Menu.

  • From the Main Menu, if you choose to EXIT, then the following “bye” pop-up window will briefly appear, and the Presentation will end.
